In Perth, there is no shortage of photo-scenic spots. It’s an excellent place for your graduation photography – from heritage buildings to urban pop-ups. Away from the beaches, which are pretty darn spectacular, here are 10 awesome locations for any good camera work.

1. The Kings Park

It’s the best tourist destination where you can take shots of the Perth city skyline. The elevated position of the great Kings Park provides a sweeping panoramic view of the Perth city, with the Darling ranges and the Swan River in the background.

2. Swan Valley

With enough wine regions in Western Australia, Swan Valley is the best. It’s near Perth’s CBD and the vine lined vineyards are a great attraction to any photographer. 

3. Elizabeth Quay

You’ll find made angles to take your college graduation photographs at this location. There is the striking bridge with its curved lines or the various pieces of public art works. In the evenings you can capture a brilliant shot of the city with the skyscrapers and the twinkling lights. 

4. Hyde Park

This is a great spot for a magnificent shot in all seasons – spring, autumn, summer or winter. The blossoms of the purple jacaranda trees in spring give a shade of orange that any college graduating student would love to take a selfie. Brown-red in autumn is just beautiful.

5. Araluen Botanical Gardens

You find these gardens nestled in a valley in Roleystone along the Perth city hills. The display of colorful tulips is irresistible. It’s the home to different species of birds and colorful butterflies.

6. Perth’s laneways

With the hip and grungy laneways in Perth’s CBD, the vibrant street artworks and coffee haunts are just good. Wolf Lane is a hot spot for excellent photography. In the backdrop of both resident and international artists, it can provide a happy graduation snap. 

7. Mundaring Weir

In the Perth Hill, there is a huge dam that has a beautiful bush scene. The walls of the dam with ornate observation building, is a great place to take a photo. You can also drive up a gravel track to capture the Golden View Lookout for an aerial view of the Mundaring Weir and the forest down below. 

8. Crawley Boatshed

Although it’s popular with wedding photography, a creative photographer can capture the front of the iconic vibrant blue building, play around with the Swan River views and come up with a master piece.

9. The Zig Zag

This is an ancient train track that winds up to the escarpments of the Perth Hills. It’s a great spot if you wish to capture the city and the surrounding towns. You can see the ocean on a clear day from this spot. If you are graduating during the wildflower season, this is a spectacular site for photos. 

10. Fremantle Buildings

There are many angles to take a snap at this heritage buildings site. Play around, with your camera, with the Roundhouse and the prison, the industrial port, the Fremantle markets or on top of the Ferris Wheel.
